This is an exciting thing to be part of such a business development. As part of their expending strategy, REDD consulted designed by Pierre, as they needed a strong visual impact for the launch of their second wine bar. A blanc page and only brief we had to follow was that it had to appeal to their target audience that is a young professional, sophisticated & educated, yet with an edge. There needed to be a visual link between the first and the second wine bars and the 2.0 edition needed to be strong enough, so that it could be replicated into a third and so on bars…
The owners gave me their full trust and followed my bold design choices: from the Tom Dixon MELT light fixtures, to the Jean-Paul GAULTIER wallpaper, the black and white bathroom… For the flooring and use of space, the guidelines were mostly the storage needed for everyday use and the number of seats for the floor plan. We ended up designing bespoke furniture for the floor and bar direct from the Czeck Republic, where the maitre D is from.
The opening night was a huge success and the investors second our bold choices and are happy that within not even a month, regulars already are in place!
